Campus Cupid Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Campus Cupid handles account, profile, photo, verification and app usage information, along with your choices and data rights. Read the complete policy in the app or contact privacy@campuscupid.app.
1. Data We Collect
We collect information you provide during registration and profile setup: your name, college email, date of birth, gender, photos, bio, interests, and prompts. When you use the app, we also collect usage data such as likes, matches, messages, and daily activity counts.
2. Photos & Selfie Verification
Profile photos and verification selfies are stored securely in our cloud storage. Verification selfies are used solely to confirm your identity and display a verified badge on your profile. We do not use facial recognition technology or share your selfie with third parties.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to: show your profile to potential matches, power our discovery algorithm, facilitate messaging between matched users, enforce community guidelines, and improve the app experience. We may use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: Supabase (database & authentication provider), cloud storage providers (for photos), and as required by law. We do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, matches, and messages within 30 days. Some anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and data, export your data, and withdraw consent for data processing. You can exercise these rights through the Settings page or by contacting us.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and row-level security policies on our database to ensure users can only access their own data.
