Love Calculator by Name

Type your name and your crush's name. You get a love percentage, a verdict, and the FLAMES result from the back-of-the-notebook game, all in one go. Nothing is stored, and the same two names always give the same answer, so send the link and let them check.

Type two names to get your result. The calculator needs JavaScript, which loads with the page.

How this love calculator works

The calculator turns the two names into a number using a fixed formula on their letters, the same way every time. Order does not matter: Rahul and Priya scores exactly what Priya and Rahul scores. Capital letters, spaces and dots are ignored, so "Priya S." and "priya s" match. Because the result never changes, a friend who opens your link sees the number you saw, which is the whole fun of comparing.

What your love percentage means

90 to 100 is soulmate territory. 75 to 89 is a strong match. 60 to 74 is real potential. 40 to 59 is worth a shot. 20 to 39 means friends first, and anything under 20 means the letters are sceptical. The three smaller bars for chemistry, communication and long term come from the same two names, so they are stable too. Treat all of it as a conversation starter, not a verdict on your life.

Is a love calculator real or fake?

It is a game. No calculator can read two people's feelings from the letters in their names, and any site that calls itself "100% accurate" is having you on. What a love calculator is good for is an excuse: a screenshot to send someone you have been meaning to talk to, a bit on a group chat, a laugh with your roommate. If the number nudges you into saying hello, it has done its job.

The FLAMES result, explained

FLAMES stands for Friends, Lovers, Affection, Marriage, Enemies and Siblings. On paper, you write both names, cross out the letters they share, count what is left, then count round the letters F-L-A-M-E-S striking out every Nth letter until one remains. The calculator does exactly that and shows you each strike, so you can check it against your notebook. Some people play S as Soulmates instead of Siblings. We use the classic version.

Why we built a free love calculator

Campus Cupid is a dating app only for verified college students in India, and a lot of college romance starts with exactly this kind of nonsense: a FLAMES game in the back row, a love percentage screenshot on the hostel group. We wanted the nicest version of it on the internet, with no ads, no sign-up and no tracking of names. When you are done playing, the app is where you meet the actual person.

Frequently asked questions

Is this love calculator by name accurate?
No, and neither is any other. It is a deterministic game played on the letters of two names. Use it for fun and as a reason to start a conversation.
Why do I get the same result every time?
Because the formula is fixed. The same two names, in any order, always give the same percentage and FLAMES result. That is what makes a shared link worth opening.
Does the love calculator store the names I type?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The names only leave your phone if you choose to share a link or an image.
Can I calculate love by date of birth?
Not here. Birth-date calculators are astrology dressed up as maths, and we would rather not pretend. Names are a fairer game because everyone plays by the same rules.
How do I get 100% on the love calculator?
Type the same name twice. For two different names, the top score depends on the letters, so try a nickname or a full name and see what changes.
What is the FLAMES full form?
Friends, Lovers, Affection, Marriage, Enemies, Siblings. In some versions the S stands for Soulmates.
Can I use this as a love calculator prank?
You can send someone the link with your two names already filled in. Just remember the result is the same for both of you, so they can check.
